Vintage hand-carved wooden elephant from India featuring an uplifted trunk and ornate brass and pale bone-style inlay decoration.

The dark-stained wood figure is dressed in a decorative metal blanket made from overlapping brass scales with cream-colored inlay accents. Additional details include embossed brass ears, patterned metal trim, circular medallions and a traditional head covering. The raised trunk is intact and ends in an intentionally carved open-tip design.

Preowned vintage condition with scratches, finish wear and natural variations in the carved wood. The pale inlay shows discoloration, scratches, edge wear and possible minor losses. The brass overlay and trim have tarnish, oxidation and surface marks from age. A visible seam or separation is present near one leg joint. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition.
